An audit provides to the reader of the audited financial statements or report assurance that the accounts are not materially misstated and is also a beneficial process for management, directors, owners and stakeholders, to enable them to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
The resulting audit findings outline where improvements can be achieved, providing a path forward for any issues identified. This gives assurance to all stakeholders that the business’s important financial aspects are on a sound footing.

An audit has a predefined process starting with an early walk through or an online assessment of the scope of the business. This will involve discussions with the client and perhaps an onsite visit.
This enables a firm quotation to be given and once mutually accepted via an engagement letter, the process begins.
After acceptance we initially undertake a planning and formal risk assessment process. This enable GPS to clearly define the steps and procedure GPS need to determine the scope of audit to be undertaken.
The audit is not completed until a formal completion and evaluation procedure is completed. This enables a draft audited financial statement to be provided to the client for review along with a detailed management letter covering the findings and recommendations.
Once signed by the client the audit opinion is signed.
We predominantly focus on Auditing and Assurance assignments, but GPS is also equipped to undertake business consulting in business evaluation and performance, planning strategies for future business success and on-going mentoring in financial management.
GPS don’t offer general taxation accounting services, bookkeeping or financial services but work with your business accountants to supplement their services.
